Unlike other scanning systems, the Faro ScanArm’s hard probe and laser scanner can digitize interchangeably without having to remove either component. Users can collect simple point variations with the Arm’s hard probe, then laser scan the sections requiring larger volumes of data (more than 13.000 points per-second) - without the wasted time of adding or removing attachments, untangling cabling, or having to use a separate CMM then trying to import the data. The ScanArm is ideal for non-contact measurement applications, including inspection, cloud-to-CAD comparison, rapid prototyping, reverse engineering and 3-D modeling. Users can analyze data in not only the Arm’s native CAM2 Measure, but also their choice of point-cloud evaluation software, including Geomagic, PolyWorks and Rapidform. •Faro Laser Tracker X
The Faro Laser Tracker X is a portable, 3D measurement system, which uses laser technology to effectively and accurately measure large parts, tooling and machinery.

The system measures 3D coordinates with its laser by following a mirrored spherical probe. With high accuracy angular encoders and XtremeADM -Absolute Distance Measurement, it reports the 3D position of the probe in realtime.

In addition to the 0.025mm accuracy and 70m range, the system has an instant-on laser and can self-calibrate with Self-Comp* in just five minutes. Other exclusive features such as Smart Warm-up and Active Thermal Compensation* ensure stable high accuracy measurement in the most challenging of measurement environments.

The model X is the first ADM-only laser tracker, delivering high accuracy portable measurement at an affordable price.

The patent pending GPS calibrated XtremeADM eliminates the need for additional distance measurement techniques.



•Faro Laser Tracker Xi: Loaded with exclusive features
The Faro Laser Tracker Xi has a 70m (230-ft.) range, achieves 0.025mm (0.001”) accuracy, and runs in two-distance measurement modes, making it the most accurate and flexible Laser Tracker system.
In addition, the Faro Laser Tracker Xi has many advanced exclusive performance features:
XtremeADM*: The GPS calibrated XtremeADM (Absolute Distance Measurement) adds high-speed measurement to FARO’s advanced break-the-beam technology, making it the easiest and most-versatile ADM system available.
Smart Warm-Up: Runs automatically when the Tracker is switched on, and heats it to a stable temperature in half the time of the earlier models. Reduces downtime; begin measuring more quickly.
Active Thermal Compensation*: Reduces fluctuations in measurement accuracies - commonly referred to as „measurement drift” - by actively responding to changes in the Tracker’s temperature. More accurate, consistent measurements regardless of environment.
To use the system, an operator places the Tracker base on a solid mounting eg. tripod, and measurements are taken as the target reflector is touched or scanned along the surface to be measured. The Laser Tracker projects a beam that the reflector bounces back to the base unit, which calculates and records the position of each point within its 70m (230-ft.) range. If the beam between the Tracker and target is interrupted, its XtremeADM feature allows it to reacquire the beam without returning to a reference point.
It enables manufacturing, engineering, and quality control professionals to measure and inspect large parts, machine tools, and other large objects on-site, in-process, or wherever it’s most efficient and cost-effective.
